Summer Road Trip Essentials by Sami
Road trips have become
an important part of summer ever since the birth of the Mother Road,Route 66.
Route 66 was a stretch of highway from Chicago to Los Angles from 1926 to 1985. Route 66 is now a thing of the past, but you can still find historical
spots and neat tourist sites along the route.
My fondest memories
as a child were our family road trips. We would pile into the car with my parents
and siblings and leave early in the morning to beat the afternoon heat and the
morning commuter traffic. Mom packed our clothes and snacks the night before
and Dad prepared the vehicle. All we had to do was figure out what toys and
books to bring on the trip. As far as the clothing we put on the items mom laid
out for us.
Packing what you need for a road trip is very is just as important as car maintenance. I like to be comfortable and prepared. Whether it’s by plane, train or automobile, I have to be comfortable. I will put on a t-shirt and drawstring stretch pants with tennis shoes and flip flops. I have a hard time traveling in jeans. Other things that are a must when traveling: water, snacks, headphones, books, and chargers for all my electronics. I have every intention to catch up on reading, but that never happens I find myself on my phone or watching the road and paying attention to the driver. I guess that is my way of asserting my control and subduing my anxiety without driving. My anxiety and excitement never lets me truly relax, but that’s another topic for some other time.
I created this road trip essentials layout. My layout is showcasing what I would wear on the road. I kept with a purple-pink theme. I chose a cute purple t-shirt with turquoise colored bicycles paired with purplish-blue capri workout pants. To top of this comfy look I would rock it with some purple women’s Nike Huarache tennis shoes. And since this look is not for a day trip you have to pack all your other outfits neatly packed in this purple print Vera Bradley bag. I love this look!

Mix it with Spicy Mustard by Sami
Photo Courtsey of Pantone |
Spicy Mustard is very tasty on a deli sandwich, but it can also make the perfect addition to your closet. Spicy Mustard is one of the featured colors for fall/winter 2016/2017 season. According to Pantone's Fashion Color Report it is an exotic addition to your wardrobe.
Yes, I know it is still summer, don't let that stop you from trying this shade out. Nothing wrong with preparing for the next season months in advance.Right? I do love when the new fall clothes arrive, I just wish accompanying colder weather stayed away. This is how you can get a taste of the fall by adding this spicy accent into your summer outfits now. I wanted to give the color a try and created this look. I incorporated the shade with this awesome but out of my price range chunky sandals and a Michael Kors' backpack purse. Pair with a cute black off the shoulder top and some torn at the knees, grey high-waisted jeans both from Asos Curve. Surprisingly, it is a very versatile shade. What do you think of this look? Will you be wearing spicy mustard?
